Seminars in Helsinki on Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Funding
Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Funding for Expanding Business in Russia
On Tuesday (26.08.2014) and Wednesday (27.08.2014), at the Edustudio Baana in Helsinki, Awara organized a breakfast seminar on two consecutive days about the current business climate in Russia, with an emphasis on the sanctions imposed by Russia as a retaliation to the EU and US pressed sanctions, and necessary anti-corruption measures.
Artem Usov (Partner, lawyer) explained how companies can protect themselves from the current and upcoming sanctions through properly drafted contracts, shared case studies.
Anton Kabakov (Partner, lawyer) presented the recent amendments to the anti-corruption law and gave recommendations on necessary actions which all companies operating in Russia should take in order to avoid tremendous fines and expelling.
As a special feature, we had Petri Rajahalme (Expert for expanding companies, Tekes), speak about funding for Finnish companies expanding in, for example, Russia, which could amount up to 200,000 Euro.
We had the pleasure of hosting the events for many high-ranking representatives from various international and Finnish companies operating in Russia, Ukraine and CIS countries. The audience participated in the discussion by sharing their experience of working in the foreign land, and presenting questions to the speakers. Please refer to Artem Usov’s presentation for a fuller overview on the sanctions topic, Anton Kabakov’s presentation for more complete steps for anti-corruption measures, and Petri Rajahalme’s presentation for Tekes’ funding options.
Also we advise you to watch the short clip regarding these seminars.
