The Finnish Embassy has hosted a seminar devoted to the key issues of foreign business development.

With the assistance of the Embassy of Finland represented by the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Finland in Ukraine, Ms. Arja Inkeri Makkonen, Awara Group organized a meeting at her residence, which was held on March 16, 2012 to discuss the problems and prospects of foreign business in Ukraine. Over 40 companies participated in this event.

After Ms. Makkonen’s opening speech, Jon Hellevig, Awara Managing Partner, made a presentation on the control of Ukrainian subsidiaries with examples from daily activities. Mr. Hellevig stressed the importance of an enterprises’ proper organizational structure, compared the characteristics of various forms of business, and proposed ways of solving difficulties that may arise for subsidiaries. The head of Orion Pharma CIS, Mr. Viktor Pushkarev, also touched upon this topic with his presentation on the main current issues encountered by foreign companies in Ukraine, including pharmaceutical representative offices of foreign countries.

Those present at the meeting agreed upon the relevance of the topics covered. They also took the opportunity of the buffet lunch to discuss further and exchange experience in the various areas addressed during the meeting.
